FAQs
Clean Cut Tree Service, Inc.
When should I consider tree removal?
Tree removal is typically considered a last resort, but certain situations necessitate it. Our certified arborists can assess whether removal is necessary. Reasons for tree removal include: if the tree is dead or dying, poses an irreparable hazard, causes an obstruction that pruning cannot correct, crowds and harms other trees, has significant root issues, needs replacement with a more suitable species, or must be removed for new construction. Safety is our primary concern, so if you suspect a tree has become unsafe or you're facing an emergency, contact us immediately. Our experienced team is equipped to handle even the most challenging removals efficiently and safely. What season is best for tree service?
Our services are available year-round. During summer, the growing season, it's easier to evaluate tree health and perform minor trimming or thinning. However, the dormant period from November through March is ideal for more substantial pruning, benefiting the tree's health. Winter work also offers better visibility along roads due to the absence of leaves, and it's easier to navigate around landscaping features like flowers or lawns.Does clean cut Tree Service do pruning?
Yes, we offer pruning services. Regular pruning enhances tree health, restores shape, and extends lifespan. It involves removing weak, dead, diseased, or insect-infested branches to prevent storm damage. Pruning also reduces wind resistance, decreasing the risk of breakage during storms. While homeowners can prune low branches, we recommend professional services for large trees due to safety concerns and the need for specialized equipment. Improper pruning techniques can expose trees to disease or even cause death, so it's crucial to rely on trained professionals for this task.Do I need fertilization and mulch?
Fertilization and mulching are beneficial for tree health. The optimal time for fertilizer application is during the dormant season (November through March) or in spring and early summer (April through June). We advise against fertilizing between July and the first hard freeze to prevent frost damage to new growth. Mulching helps reduce environmental stress and provides a stable root environment. Apply a uniform layer of mulch, 2-3 inches thick, extending as far as possible from the tree, but keep it 1-2 inches away from the trunk to prevent collar rot. For watering, deep, infrequent watering is preferable to promote deep root growth. Water in the morning to minimize evaporation, and focus on the area below and surrounding the tree rather than the leaves. What is stump grinding?
Stump grinding is a specialized process that removes tree stumps and roots 8-20 inches below ground level. This procedure is typically performed on the same day as tree removal, using a specialized machine operated by a professional. Stump grinding is beneficial for several reasons: it prevents sinkholes, is more efficient and safer than manual removal, creates natural mulch for landscaping, and removes the stump below grade level. The grinding machine's cutting teeth are designed to pulverize both wood and soil, resulting in a mixture of wood chips and soil. Can I keep the firewood from trees you cut down?
Certainly. We can cut, split, and stack the wood from your removed tree if you'd like to keep it for firewood. Please inquire about pricing for these additional services. We also offer firewood delivery if you require more than what your removed tree provides.Do you do lot clearing?
Yes, we provide lot clearing services. Clearing an overgrown lot improves property appearance, prevents pest infestations, and can be a considerate action towards neighbors. Our lot clearing process effectively removes brush and thickets, revealing the true potential of your property. We can handle lots of varying brush and tree density, leaving behind a mixture of mulch and sawdust that often serves as a soil enhancer. If preferred, we can also remove these byproducts from the site.Do I need to be home when the estimate is given?
